Below are some photos taken from the bus between Zacopane and Krakow. One of the things that struck us is that the farming still seems to be in very small plots with only a couple of animals, possibly subsistence. No doubt this will change in time.
It all looks very green and fertile! My recollection is that there seemed to be few fences in the more "open" areas. which are presumably used primarily for crops. This is consistent with your comment (and photos) that there are few animals, except perhaps close to the housing - in other words, few if any herds roaming paddocks.
