First afternoon in Copenhagen

By way of exploration of the neighbourhood we walked back to check out a department store we had seen next to our Metro stop. It is a grand 19th century sandstone front, bearing a previous title of Hotel du Nord. The current name is Magasin du Nord, but whether any other French connection remains is not apparent. Inside it could be Myers or David Jones except the vegetables and fruit on lower ground, which were both exotic and where comparable cheaper than Australian equivalents. Apart from the loads of chanterelles in season it probably would all be imported.
In the young and trendy clothes section where the loud disco noise was pre-eminent Martini had taken over one counter and a team of young trendies was making a drink comprised of ice, some red Martini stuff and some sparkling Martini stuff. These were poured10 at time and then grabbed by the enthusiastic throng snapping the theatre on their iPhones, which we joined. Wendy quickly secured our 2.
In the evening we passed on Nyhavn where crowds of Americans and some yobbos drink and eat, and selected a charming fish restaurant (Zeleste) around the corner. I was delighted by a plate of king crab claws of large dimensions, and fresh cod, which I thought was still a protected species.
